For example, in a hydraulic system, when the pressure suddenly increases, the backup ring acts like a barrier to protect the position and shape of the spring-energized seal and keep them stable.
It is used to seal the gap between the pump shaft and the pump body in various industrial pumps such as chemical pumps and oil pumps. During the operation of the pump, both the internal liquid pressure and the rotation of the pump shaft will have an impact on the seal.
