Spring activated seals may be the solution when traditional seals are unable to produce a leak-proof mating surface.
Seals powered by springs are made to endure pressure and heat. They will compress when subjected to hot, pressurized oil, coolant, or hot, gaseous substances. In essence, they'll get smaller and more compact. The mechanical energy produced by the heat and pressure will be stored by spring-energized seals, enabling them to maintain a leak-proof mating surface.
