PTFE Bearing Shaft Seal energized by Spring is a spring actuated PTFE bearing seal designed to prevent lubricant or other fluids from leaking from the bearing section. It has a low coefficient of friction, high chemical resistance, high temperature and high pressure capabilities. Its construction is a membrane that fits inside a spring, and when the membrane and shaft fit snugly, they form an effective seal. As the shaft rotates, the pressure of the spring remains compressed and continuously compresses the PTFE. This seal is available in a variety of shaft sizes and materials such as steel, copper and aluminium. Its application fields include food processing, petrochemical engineering, water pumps, transmissions and so on.

Jacket

The jacket is made from a variety profiles and low-friction PTFE various blends and high performance polymeric materials. Since jackets are machined on a CNC Lathe to very close tolerances the seal can be easily adjusted to enhance seal performance.

Springs

The spring energize the seal lips without taking a compression set or becoming too soft or hard, the way an elastomer can. There are three different spring types , each with different load ratings to meet the linear friction or torque requirements.
